Job Purpose
The telecommuting Special Events Coordinator position is accountable for coordinating a variety of Jail & Bail fundraising events throughout northwest and central Wisconsin. The coordinator acts as liaison between March of Dimes, its volunteers, and the local community in which it serves by recruiting volunteer participation, corporate participation, and sponsorship within that community. (The position may also work out of one of the Wisconsin Chapter’s three offices.)
Responsibilities
Support special event committee and volunteers as assigned for Jail & Bail events
Renew past and recruit new participants
Secure event venue
Plan and coordinate event logistics
Correspondence to event volunteers, sponsorship solicitation, gift acknowledgements, and other correspondence as necessary
Send press releases and work with local radio and newspapers to get publicity for event
Requirements
Bachelor Degree, 1-3 years experience, preferably in fund raising
Available during regular business hours
Car and willing to work throughout assigned geographic area mornings, evenings and weekends as necessary
Telephone with voice mail; mobile phone helpful
Computer, fax, and e-mail available
Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communications skills required
Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple projects and tasks
Must successfully complete a credit and criminal background check
